Ad Claims Gay Marriage Will Leave Kids Without Loving Parents
How Low Will Right Wing Christian Conservatives Go?
An ad released last week suggests
children will be left without loving parents if gay marriage is
approved.
In the 30-second ad released by the
anonymous group i2Open, two young boys fall from a climbing wall on a
playground. A mother rushes to the side of one of the boys. The
mother asks the other boy, “Where's your mommy?” The boy just
looks sad as two men, presumably the boy's fathers, approach him but
refuse to comfort him.
“Is marriage about what adults demand
or what children need,” a male announcer says as captions call on
voters to approve a proposed constitutional amendment in Minnesota
which would limit marriage to heterosexual unions.
The ad was roundly criticized by The
Young Turks' Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, who called it “absurd.”
“Because gay fathers wouldn't help
their child if he fell,” Kasparian said sarcastically.
“Yeah, they would come in their ratty
sneakers and they'd just stand over him, they'd lord over him.
They'd be like, 'Son you must now learn what it is to have gay
parents. We shall not pick you up at all,'” Uygur added. “Are
you kidding me?”
“Wait a minute. How about us –
straight fathers – are we all assholes like that?” he added.
“That's awesomely comical, but they did not intend that to be
comical.”

Moscow police 'discover brothel on monastery premises'
Moscow police have discovered a brothel on the premises of a monastery whose abbot is thought to be President Vladimir Putin's spiritual adviser.
Two women were arrested on suspicion of prostitution after seven rooms were
found in a building close to Sretensky Monastery where sexual services were
offered from 1,750 roubles (£35) per hour.
Father Tikhon, the abbot of the monastery, is said to be a religious counselor to Mr Putin, who is a confirmed Russian Orthodox believer.
There were conflicting reports over the ownership of the brothel, found in one
of a chain of mini-hotels called Podushkin.
Life News, a popular muckraking website with close ties to the police and
security services, said the building where the brothel was located on
Rozhdestvensky Boulevard had been rented out by the monastery.
However, an attendant at the monastery was quoted as saying: "Some time
ago we rented premises for our seminary. The bordello was only found then,
when we started to check which rooms had become temporarily ours, and which
hadn't. This establishment had been there for a long time; it belongs to
someone and has absolutely no connection to us."
Another source at the monastery told Interfax news agency that monks "had
heard that next to us was a hotel offering 'intimate services'" but it
was nothing to do with them.
A video of the alleged brothel showed leather harnesses, chains and whips hanging in a basement and Podushkin's website advertises rooms in the hotel "fitted out for erotic games".
Patriarch Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church took a harsh stance earlier this year when three members of the Pussy Riot feminist opposition group staged a "punk prayer" during which they danced a cancan in Moscow's main cathedral, Christ the Savior.
The church leader, who is a close ally of Mr Putin, called the protest blasphemous. The three women were later convicted and sentenced to two years in prison, although one has since been released on appeal.
Critics of the church say its moral posturing is eroded by the behavior of senior clerics. Patriarch Kirill was pilloried in April for wearing a £20,000 Breguet watch and a priest in Moscow came under scrutiny in August after crashing a BMW Z4 roadster with Maltese license plates.
The fact that a commercial car-wash operates underneath Christ the Savior has also been ridiculed.
The church, meanwhile, claims it is the victim of a smear campaign.
Sretensky Monastery was founded in 1397. Its abbot, Father Tikhon, has played down his connection to Mr Putin, but admits they know each other since before the latter first became president in 2000.
Police said they were searching for the organizers of the brothel.
I just love when morally bankrupt Christians, pushing an antigay agenda get their sanctimonious asses rubbed in the muck.

Disney Buys Lucasfilm, 'Star Wars 7' Set For 2015 Release
In one of the biggest movie studio purchases in history, Disney is paying $4.05 billion to buy Lucasfilm Ltd.,
the production company behind the blockbuster "Star Wars" franchise.
The payment will be made with both cash and stock -- around 40 million
shares.
Lucasfilm's chairman, founder and owner George Lucas, has agreed to the deal; Disney also announced that it will be making a seventh "Star Wars" movie, set for release in 2015. Lucas will now be the creative consultant on the new "Star Wars" film. No word yet on cast, official title (other than "Episode 7"), or when in the "Star Wars" timeline the film will take place. There are, however, plans to follow up the seventh installment with "Episode 8" and "Episode 9" in the years to follow.
Kathleen Kennedy, the co-chairman of Lucasfilm, will become president, and report to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. Lucas said in a statement: "It's now time for me to pass `Star Wars' on to a new generation of filmmakers."
The six existing "Star Wars" films have earned a total of $4.4 billion worldwide, slightly more than the purchase.
"Lucasfilm reflects the extraordinary passion, vision, and storytelling of its founder, George Lucas," said Robert A. Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, to ABC News. "This transaction combines a world-class portfolio of content including 'Star Wars,' one of the greatest family entertainment franchises of all time, with Disney’s unique and unparalleled creativity across multiple platforms, businesses, and markets to generate sustained growth and drive significant long-term value.”

Chad Lee Campaign Worker Retracts Claims Of Being Attacked By Gay Liberals
Kyle Wood has retracted claims that he
was attacked in his home for working on the campaign for Chad Lee, a
Republican vying for a congressional seat from Wisconsin.
Wood said he was attacked by gay
liberals because he is a gay Republican.
The
Isthmus Daily Page quoted Captain Joe Balles, commander of
the South District Madison Police Department, as saying that Wood no
longer stands by his story about being assaulted and choked on
October 24.
In comments to the Milwaukee
Journal Sentinel, Wood said the attack was “terrifying.”
“All of the a sudden, there was
something around my neck, so I couldn't breathe – I mean, I could
breathe enough to live, but I couldn't scream. All I could think
about was getting it off my neck,” he said.
Wisconsin state Rep. Mark Pocan, an
openly gay Democrat, is running against Lee for the 2nd
Congressional District.
Wood also claimed that Pocan's partner,
Philip Frank, had sent him a series of threatening text messages in
the days leading up to the attack, making Pocan and Frank the leading
suspects.
“Those did not occur,” Balles said.
“I'm not going to get into the specifics of how we know that.”
Conservative website Media
Trackers published several of the fictitious texts, including
one which read: “Remember your station in life and remember not to
cross the husband of a powerful man. You are on shaky footing as it
is, push much farther and you won't have a future in this town, or
any other.”
Balles said Wood could face charges,
though he gave no details.
Frank's lawyer , Tamara Packard, said
Frank and Pocan were considering filing a libel suit against Wood.

Anti-Gay Christian Leader Blames Homosexuality for Hurricane Sandy
John McTernan believes he knows what’s responsible for Hurricane Sandy, and it’s not climate science. On Sunday, the anti-gay Christian preacher said that the hurricane is more proof that “God is systematically destroying America” as punishment for the “homosexual agenda.”
“Both candidates are pro-homosexual and are
behind the homosexual agenda. America is under political judgment and
the church does not know it,” McTernan wrote on his website.
McTernan also uses religion in his attempt
to rationalize why the storm is hitting now, explaining that it’s been
21 years since the “perfect storm” hit New England in 1991.
“21 years breaks down to 7 x 3, which is a
significant number with God. Three is perfection as the Godhead is three
in one while seven is perfection,” he wrote.
This is hardly the first time, however,
that the religious zealot has tied natural disasters to homosexuality.
McTernan has also made similar claims about Hurricane Katrina
and Hurricane Isaac, both of which hit the same week seven years apart
in New Orleans. He claimed that the hurricane was the result of a gay
festival called Southern Decadence, and that “God was ‘putting an end to
this city and its wickedness.’ ”
But McTernan is hardly alone when it comes to making outlandish claims about natural disasters and homosexuality.
Wow, we're just like Xmen replete with the mutant power to cause natural disasters...maybe they shouldn't be pissing us off then?
