After being panned, Jeb Bush takes another try at expressing gay marriage views

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, eyeing a run for The White House in 2016, suffered some backlash this week when he said same-sex marriage is something that is voted on by the people.
Bush made the comment as Florida became the 36th state in the US to legalize same-sex marriage with couples getting married in Miami-Dade County on Monday (5 January) and in other counties starting today.
The brother of former president George W. Bush and son of former president George H. W. Bush had a chat with The New York Times, Monday after his initial comments were met with criticism from those who believe a civil rights issues should not be left up to a vote.
'We live in a democracy, and regardless of our disagreements, we have to respect the rule of law,' Bush said in a statement. 'I hope that we can show respect for the good people on all sides of the gay and lesbian marriage issue – including couples making lifetime commitments to each other who are seeking greater legal protections and those of us who believe marriage is a sacrament and want to safeguard religious liberty.'

So, Jeb doesn't know that the US is a republic with democratic principles not a true democracy?
And he wants people to elect him president...sounds as qualified as his brother if you ask me.
