Group Behind Anti-gay Billboards Says Campaign Not About Gays

The group behind billboards being erected in Michigan that state that “homosexuality is not a civil right” says that its campaign is not about the “gay community.”
The billboards feature two faces against a black backdrop: a person in a minority group and a gay person. In one version, an Asian woman's face is captioned by “Born Asian,” while the gay person's caption reads, “Not born this way.” “Homosexuality is a behavior. Not a civil right,” the billboards state.

The group Restrain the Judges is behind the billboards. It includes numerous Christian conservative groups, including Faith 2 Action, Americans for Truth About Homosexuality and American Family Association of Pennsylvania, which have come together to call on the Supreme Court to uphold bans on gay marriage in four states, including Michigan.
At its website, people can buy personalized “restraining orders” directed at the Supreme Court justices and congressional leaders. For $49.95 a user can buy 544 such orders.
“We the people of the United States affirm our right to self-governance and hereby issue a Restraining Order to the United States Supreme Court and our Federal Courts who would attempt to further usurp: The sovereign vote of the American People. Our State Constitutions. The sacred institution of marriage between one man and one woman. Our Constitutionally protected First Amendment rights,” the order states.
Mark Gurley, spokesman for the group, told WDIV-TV in Detroit that the campaign does not target the “gay community.”
“I believe in America it's pretty hard to say anything without somebody being offended,” he said. “The issue here doesn't have anything to do, at the end of the day, with the gay community. It has everything to do with protecting freedom of religion.”

It doesn't target the gay community in the same way that blood isn't red.
It spews anti-gay rhetoric and lies, but we shouldn't take that personally, after all, they only hate us for our own good.
If, as you say Mark, it has nothing to do with the gay community and is just about your religious freedoms, then why do you insist on demonizing, dehumanizing and denying us equal protection under the law, while also insisting on *special* rights affording you and your bigoted ilk the freedom to treat us publicly as lesser citizens?
Whose next, the other people you pictured on your billboards...blacks, Asians...maybe Jews, Muslims, Buddhist, Atheist  and any other group you'd care to marginalize via popular Christian vote, after all, most of the latter weren't born that way...hmm, come to think of it, neither were you!
