Gay Gaming

The game industry is making progress in trying to get away from the stereotype that the only people that play are straight white men in their 40s living in their mother’s basement.

And that can be seen in The Technomancer, a science fiction action RPG set on Mars 200 years after colonization.

Unlike the majority of games of this type, this one features something different: a gay sex scene.

You play as renegade soldier Zachariah in the game, as he goes on the run from the secret police. Helped on his journey by various characters, at one point you meet Andrew – an attractive warrior with a mechanical arm.

At one point, Andrew and Zachariah get closer.

This is the only same-sex romance in the game. Other companions include Scott, an older guy married to a woman and is described by the player character as a father figure.

The other male companion is Phobos, a very tall mutant that appears to not be interested in romance with anyone.

The Technomancer is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One
