Russian Series 'Moonlight People' Covers Plight Of Gays In Russia

From The Towleroad:
Director Catherine Polyanskaya made a bold move and has begun filming the first Russian gay soap opera, "Moonlight People." (Russian language link) The first season is planned to be eight episodes long and the stories are inspired by real-life events for gays in Russia. Since it is unlikely that the series will be picked up in Russia as it would easily fall under the nation's ban on gay "propaganda," the trailer was released with English subtitles in hopes, according to Polyanskaya (Russian language link), that a Western studio will pick up the series for production.
