The state of Florida’s charge states Rush is accused of ‘actually and intentionally strikes another person against the will of the other’.
Police describe the crime as ‘touch or strike/battery/dating violence.
However, Rush was released on recognizance. This means the defendant must make a promise to attend all future court hearings after they have been released. So as long as they appear in court when summoned, they are free to go back to their daily life. No bail or bond was needed.
Assault? Sounds more like someone got more than they bargained for or could handle, then decided to bitch about it.
