From Pink News:
Falcon shot its latest title ‘California Dreamin’, using actors wearing condoms, and has since undertaken the mammoth task of digitally removing the condoms from all scenes.
The studio says the move allows it to appeal to those who wish to view bareback porn, while removing the risk factor of asking its actors to shoot scenes without condoms.
Falcon said: “The logic behind asking models to wear condoms and then spending a large amount of time removing them in post-production, obviously, is to sell more copies of a film while still being able to coin it as ‘safe.’ ‘Safe,’ here, implying that performers have little risk of transmitting HIV or other STDs while wearing condoms.”
The film’s director Tony Dimarco said he wanted to make “a throwback to the classic, pre-condom Falcon poolside movies from the 70′s and 80′s … when life seemed more carefree and spontaneous.”
Continuing, he said he “wanted to give the impression of a pre-condom movie” and that he had “found a way to film the movie safely and effectively, while giving the [vintage porn] experience that I had intended and using the hottest modern stars.”
Falcon Studios has been committed to using condoms in all films since the late 1980s.
One actor has already taken to Twitter to say that he does not want people to mistake him for a bareback porn actor, despite that the film explicitly notes that condoms were used during filming.
