Trump officials are still working on an anti-LGBT ‘religious freedom’ order despite denials, his former policy chief has said.
A draft executive order leaked from inside the White House last month that would actively permit religious discrimination against LGBT people.
The leaked order would protect people who discriminate based on “the belief that marriage is or should be recognised as the union of one man and one woman [or that] male and female refer to an individual’s immutable biological sex as objectively determined by anatomy at birth”.
It was reportedly benched after feuds within the administration, but a Trump advisor has confirmed plans are still on the table in the long term.
Ken Blackwell of the Family Research Council, who served on the Trump transition team as head of domestic policy, confirmed at the Republican CPAC conference that officials are “in the process of redrafting” the order so that it is less vulnerable to court challenges.
According to HuffPo, he said: “What we want is an executive order that will meet the scrutiny of the judicial process.
“If there is no religious liberty executive order, that will disappoint, but a good executive order will not. So we’re still in the process.”
Mr Blackwell said questions about its legality should be “the lawyers… who are in the process of redrafting it”.
“I think small business owners who hold a religious belief that believes that traditional marriage is between one man and one woman should not have their religious liberty trampled upon.
“I would imagine that that will be, strongly and clearly, the anchor concept [of the order].”
As competing factions within the Trump administration jockey for control of the Presidency, it is unclear who within the White House gave the green light on the original order – but it is remarkably similar to an anti-LGBT law signed by Pence while serving as Governor of Indiana.

Is the photo accompanying this news story a real one? Can we assume the 2 young men on the ground with horrendous bloody head wounds are dead? Are they some of the gay young men thrown off of 3rd story roofs in Islamic countries? Males, who if they survived the fall, were then stoned to death by the assembled crowd watching the "show"? I read that many pre-teen children were recruited to throw stones to participate in their murders; this being considered "justice" for sexual perverts in Islam.
Can you confirm that this is just such a photo? I only read about it. Never saw any photos. (And if it is such a photo, why didn’t you label it as such? Do you think the majority of people viewing it here, would realize what it depicts?)
For all those American gays who think Islam is a religion deserving of respect, this is what's in store for YOU if Islam ever gets an equal footing as far as the law & justice systems go in Western countries. You think most so-called "Christians" would call for such actions as this? Out of the 1000s of Christians that I've known over decades, none would ever condone this!
You do know that one of the teachings of Islam is that Muslims can't practice their religion truly/correctly unless the government of the country they live in is Muslim? Therefore when they immigrate to a Western country, despite what they might tell you, they are working to get control of that government! To install Sharia law.
You do know that Muhammad taught his followers that it's quite alright/correct to LIE in the FURTHERANCE of Islam. And the example he used was "if you (Muslims) are weak, say you're for peace. When you get an army strong enough, then go & destroy those enemies of Islam." So, how is Israel, for example, or those uninformed dupes in the West. supposed to make any peace treaty with Islam? Especially Israel, or any Jews no matter what country they live in -who the Muslims have sworn many times to “annihilate/exterminate”, how are they supposed to trust Muslims? And btw, an enemy of Islam is anyone who opposes the complete triumph of Islam over all other religions! Anyone who opposes Sharia law.
BTW, in Sharia a woman's testimony is "worth" one-half that of a man's. So in any dispute between a man & a women, a woman can never win! In Sharia if a woman is raped she needs 4 MEN who are Muslims in good standing, to witness to her being raped. (And just how often would that impossibility come about? If there were 4 witnesses, 100-1 they would have been participants!) Non-Muslims -or other Muslim women, are NOT accepted as witnesses. If she foolishly brings charges without such 4 Muslim male witnesses, she will be accused of engaging in adulterous sex. She will then be liable to being executed. You do know all this, right?
IF NOT, please read up on this. READ what MUSLIMS say about Sharia, about ISLAM -how it's to be interpreted/lived! I'M NOT lying/making this up! I DON'T HATE Muslims. I'm just trying to inform people with their heads in the sand in the West, what YOU're up against. Islam is a toxic religion! In fact it's less a religion & more like a fascist system, like Nazism or Communism were. A- "My way or the highway -of DEATH -if YOU disagree with ME!" -system.
