One of the hot topics to be discussed this weekend in Toronto by members of the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) will be a potential event merger between the Gay Games and Outgames.
OutSports.com reports that eight years after the Outgames seceded from the Federation of Gay Games to form GLISA, the two organizations are considering teaming up to host joint quadrennial events in 2018, and that the discussions have caused a battle to emerge among group members.
Team San Francisco, for example, has opposed the move, asking that the Federation of Gay Games keep its event separate and "relegate the Outgames to regional events in South America, Asia and Africa."
