"Our values ennoble the citizen and strengthen the nation. We should remember that decency and civility are values too," Romney said. "One of the speakers who will follow me today (referring to Fischer), has crossed that line, I think. Poisonous language doesn't advance our cause. It's never softened a single heart nor changed a single mind."
Fischer has also suggested banning Muslims from the military and attacks religions which do not aspire to fundamental Christianity. He also has said homosexuality is a "threat to public health".
Romney, of Massachusetts, has stated his opposition to both same-sex marriage and civil unions, though he supports some domestic partnership benefits and (at the state level) supports anti-discrimination laws to protect gays and lesbians in the workplace.
Did ya hear that? Masta' Romney don't be thinkin' we is all bad, juz so long as we don't be gettin' all uppity and wantin' equal rights and all...glory Hallelujah, Masta' Romney be praised.
