Speed skater Blake Skjellerup and figure skater Johnny Weir both have agreed that their mere presence at the Olympics is more than enough of a statement of support against the atrocities committed against gays in Russia.
After all, as they point out, the Olympics aren't about politics or political statements.
Yup, I'm sure that will be a huge comfort to all homosexuals living the good life in Russia.
Way to step up guys.

Agreed. I am so over Johnny Weir anyhow, the only reason he gets any attention is because he is flamboyant yet completely lacks much substance.

Their money careers are more important to them than freedom for the oppressed. Sport hasn't been known for caring for much other than themselves and money.
