Trump Nominates Another Homophobe To Be Lifetime Federal Judge

Donald Trump recently picked another judge for a US court seat and, unsurprisingly, the pick has an anti-LGBTI track record.
Trump named Gordon Giampietro to fill a vacant seat on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. The federal position, like all other court seats, lasts a lifetime.
He is currently assistant general counsel of the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company.
BuzzFeed News first unveiled the swaths of discriminatory comments.
In 2015, following the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage, Giampietro called it an ‘assault on nature’.
He made the comments on an episode of The Lydia LoCoco Show.
‘Anytime you assault nature, there’s going to be a backlash. That’s what we’re seeing today. … Whenever you go against God’s plan, bad things are going to happen,’ he furhter said.
In another interview with LoCoco in 2014, he spoke once more about gay marriage.
‘This new definition of marriage actually focuses marriage on the sex act,’ he said about it.
He further went on to say if same-sex marriage was about love, society should also allow incest.

‘Because if it were simply that we wanted to honor the love of two people, we would allow sons to marry their mothers, brothers to marry their sisters, for example, to get them health care. Isn’t that a beautiful thing? Doesn’t society think that would be a great thing, if a sister could get her brother on health care?’
