Manny Pacquiao has been banned from LA shopping center The Grove.
The center's owner Rick Caruso, said: “These are statements of hatred. A
lot of people from the gay community come to The Grove and they have a
right not to feel uncomfortable.”
“Manny Pacquiao is no longer welcome.”
The boxer had reportedly been seen on the property, but after he left, Caruso decided to ban him.
As deplorable as I find Manny to be, we can hardly claim some sort of moral high ground, if we as a community practice the very thing we accuse the religious right of; an that's not providing goods and service's to someone because we don't like their way of thinking.
If we want to be treated equally, then we should also insist that rule applies to all or as a community we don't have a moral leg to stand on.
