Matthew Hagee, Pastor John Hagee's son,
warns listeners that a recent Supreme Court ruling striking down the
Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is a sign that the Rapture is about to
occur.
The ruling ended a provision of DOMA
that prohibited federal agencies from recognizing the legal marriages
of gay and lesbian couples.
“In the days of Noah, men were wicked
in their hearts, in their thoughts, in their deeds,” Hagee
said during a recent Hagee Hotline segment. “Men were
agnostic, not believing in God. Men were individuals who believed
that they could be like God. We have all of those things happening
in the world around us. As it was in the days of Lot. What was
happening in the days of Lot? Men had given up the natural
affections for women and were lying with other men as they lied [sic]
with their wives. That's happening in the world today. Last week,
the Supreme Court said that the Defense of Marriage Act was
unconstitutional in that same-sex couples should have equal
representation under the law. That's something that would have been
applauded in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. So when you see these
things similar to the days of Noah and similar to the days of Lot,
it's very easy to know that the Rapture of the church is about to
occur.”
First of all, I'm not even going to tackle his inept scriptural usage, just knowing who the mans father is, suffices that the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
Just his assumption that the "end is nigh" is proof enough that this man is a dunce since it clearly states no man shall know the hour, day or time of the rapture and it goes on to caution believers, that anyone professing they know are false prophets.
Hagee's father is well documented as a man whose life efforts have been to force the rapture into happening.
The unmitigated gall of the man is staggering.
Guess what, he failed, and now his ignorance and delusions of grandeur have been passed on to his offspring.
Sins of the father have truly been passed onto the son.
Talk about child abuse!
